News Update: Siemens Postpones Sale of Hearing-Aid Unit on Low Bids (NYSE:SI)
News Update: Siemens Postpones Sale of Hearing-Aid Unit on Low Bids (NYSE:SI) Shares of Siemens AG (NYSE:SI) are trading 1.6% lower to $92.68 Monday after the company postponed a possible sale of its hearing-aid unit after bids fell short of the 2 billion euros ($2.7 billion) it had sought, two people familiar with the plan told Bloomberg. Offers for the subsidiary did not exceed 1.8 billion euros, said the people, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the talks aren't public. The German engineering company had explored a sale of the division as it seeks to narrow its focus on industrial applications such as power turbines and medical scanners. Siemens CFO Joe Kaeser said in January that the company would consider any bids for the unit, and that no decision had been reached on a disposal
