March 8, 2010: 4:15 PM ET — The major US equity indices closed mixed Monday after trading in a narrow range on M&A news and as investors remained cautious after a seven-day winning streak. In corporate news, mcdonald’s (NYSE:MCD) shares rose 2.6% after the company reported better-than-expect same-store sales for February. For stores open at least a year, sales rose 4.8%. Research in Motion (NASDAQ:RIMM) shares rose 6.1% after an analyst upgraded the stock on expectations that the company will report strong quarterly results and issue strong guidance.
